TURKEY PREVENTS RUSSIAN AND KAZAKH TANKERS PASSING THROUGH THE BOSPHORUS

Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) claims that Turkey prevents Russian and Kazakh tankers using the Istanbul and Canakkale (Dardanelles) Straits for transportation, Turkish Daily News reports. According to a CPC press statement, reported by Kz-Today news agency, Turkey implemented new regulations preventing Russia and Kazakhstan from exporting oil through the straits. Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai has called for greater international help to eradicate the production of illegal drugs. In a statement, he said Afghanistan would never achieve stability and prosperity as long as its drugs mafia continued to survive. Konstantin Totsky and Valery Chkheidze, border guard service chiefs of Russia and Georgia, signed a protocol on increasing security on the Russia-Georgia border in Yerevan on Thursday. The protocol envisions regular information sharing between the two countries and joint border patrols. Totsky and Chkheidze indicated that the protocol comes as a follow- up to agreements the presidents of Russia and Georgia, Vladimir Putin and Eduard Shevardnadze, reached during a CIS summit in Chisinau.Visit also
