President Kurmanbek Bakiev issued a resolution on 30 November formally rebuking Zamira Sydykova, Kyrgyzstan\'s ambassador to the United States, for statements she made about the U.S. base in Kyrgyzstan. In mid-November, Sydykova spoke to the \"Financial Times\" and \"The New York Times\" about negotiations between Kyrgyzstan and the United States over payments for the use of the base.
