NO NEW LOANS TO UZBEKISTAN - WORLD BANK

The World Bank will not issue any new loans to Uzbekistan, but will continue its financing of global projects and offering of consultative and technical assistance to the Uzbek government, the World Bank\'s Tashkent office said. The World Bank will develop cooperation with Uzbekistan within the framework of an amended strategy, which is aimed at intensive technical assistance, consultations and research, but excludes new loans, the office said.
