The Russian Ministry of Transport informed its Georgian counterpart on 9 August that as of 12 August the restrictions on flights by Georgian carriers through Russian airspace will be lifted. The restrictions were imposed in early August in connection with military activities in the North Caucasus. It is not clear whether Tbilisi annulled the analogous restrictions it imposed on Russian aircraft overflying Georgia.
