President Vladimir Putin told his fellow G-8 leaders at their summit in Evian, France, on 2 June that Russia will halt \"all nuclear exports\" to Iran until that country signs on to a stricter protocol on nuclear inspections. Iran earlier the same day said it will not accede to the Additional Protocol of the Non-Proliferation Treaty under which signatories would make their nuclear facilities available for unannounced inspections. Putin\'s statement came after the G-8 leaders signed a statement that called weapons of mass destruction the \"preeminent threat\" to international security.

Iran is no exception in this respect.\" (RIA-Novosti)
