ARMENIAN PRESIDENT SATISFIED WITH PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION OUTCOME

A spokesman for President Robert Kocharian told RFE/RL on 2 June that Kocharian is content with the results of the 25 May parliamentary election in which parties loyal to the president gained 70 of the 131 seats. He said talks are under way with various political forces, without specifying which ones, and affirmed that \"it is possible to form a majority in the National Assembly that will work effectively and for a long time.\" Also on 2 June, the pro-presidential Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutiun (HHD), whose spokesmen claim it polled significantly more than the 11.
