The European Parliament is also considering holding a roundtable on Turkmenistan with the participation of human rights organizations and members of the Turkmen opposition. An official delegation from Turkmenistan would also be invited. Turkmen opposition figure and former Ambassador to Turkey Nurmuhammed Hanamov, who has been meeting with European parliamentarians, said he had found his interlocutors well informed about the situation in Turkmenistan and added that a resolution by the European Parliament should contain specific demands.
