Daghestan\'s minister for nationality policy, information and external ties, Zagir Arukhov, was killed on the evening of 20 May when a bomb exploded at the entrance to an apartment building in Makhachkala. Arukhov\'s bodyguard died later of his injuries; four children were also hospitalized. Experts from the Russian Interior Ministry flew to Makhachkala on 21 May to investigate the killing. Arukhov\'s predecessor as minister, Magomedsalikh Gusaev, was killed two years ago by a bomb placed on the roof of his car. (Caucasus Press)
