Armenia's membership to WTO was formally approved at today's session of the World Trade Organization. An Armenian government delegation, led by prime minister Andranik Margarian arrived in Geneva to attend the WTO session. After a ten-year long negotiations and after bringing its trade legislation in compliance with WTO requirements Armenia applied for WTO membership in 1992.By empty (12/15/2002 issue of the CACI Analyst)
PRIVATE The Government of Armenia accepted a proposal by the Russky Alyuminy company on acquiring 100 percent of the Armenal foil-rolling factory's shares by the latter. This was disclosed here today at the Armenian Government's public-relations department. The fifth session of the Moldovan-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and trade ended today in Tashkent with the signing of three documents which provide for the development of Moldovan-Uzbek relations in different areas, Moldova One TV reported on 12 December. The sides also signed two agreements on cooperation in air transport and tourism: to develop a joint programme which would unite tourist routes the wine and silk routes. Georgian Interior Minister said on December 14 that three persons suspected in abduction of Sadi Sharifov, father of the Russian company LUKOil's vice-president, were arrested. Narchemashvili said at the special briefing that all of them pled guilty.
