Seven hundred protestors seized 36 hectares (89 acres) of land in southern Bishkek on 15 September, RFE/RL\'s Kyrgyz Service reported. A spokesperson for the group said that Kyrgyz officials had promised them plots of land in the spring but have since failed to keep their word.
