In February 2003, Turkmenistan's wages will double, President Saparmurad Niyazov told the 12th session of Khalk Maslakhatly (People's Council) in the Eastern city of Turkmenabad, formerly Chardzhou, on Friday. The raise will be effective in all enterprises and organizations and in both state-run and private businesses.
