Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev signed the Bishkek declaration and an agreement on cooperation between the countries in security field. A number of intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements were signed in the presence of both Presidents, in particular, an agreement between the Russian and the Kyrgyz National Olympic Committees and a protocol on coordination of activities between the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry.
