Iraqi Ambassador to Russia Abbas Halaf said that 2,500 Russian citizens have filed official applications to go to Iraq to support its people in the event of war. \'I have already forwarded this list of 2,500 people to Baghdad, and I will issue visas to these people as soon as I get approval from the Iraqi authorities,\" Halaf told a news conference in Moscow on Friday. \"If such permission is obtained, these Russian citizens will be in Iraq on February 15 to take part in a peace rally,\" he said.The Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst is a biweekly publication of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute & Silk Road Studies Program, a Joint Transatlantic Research and Policy Center affiliated with the American Foreign Policy Council, Washington DC., and the Institute for Security and Development Policy, Stockholm.
