SOUTHERN KAZAKH POLICE DETAIN 58 TAJIK ILLEGAL MIGRANTS

South Kazakhstan Regional police have detained a large group of illegal migrants from Tajikistan today. The regional internal affairs department told an Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency correspondent that 58 illegal migrants were found in the body of a cargo vehicle after it had been pulled over by traffic police for an inspection. The police said that there were 44 men, 13 women and a six-year-old girl.

The regional internal affairs department told an Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency correspondent that 58 illegal migrants were found in the body of a cargo vehicle after it had been pulled over by traffic police for an inspection. The police said that there were 44 men, 13 women and a six-year-old girl. In all, 48 detainees had passports on them but none of the detainees had a permit to stay on the territory of Kazakhstan. The illegal migrants told police that they were going to Russia to earn some money. The internal affairs department said that all the detainees would be deported to Tajikistan. (Interfax-Kazakhstan)
