Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze traveled to Sochi on 6 March and held a first round of talks there that evening with Russian President Putin. Georgian officials said the talks would focus on the Abkhaz conflict, the situation in Georgia\'s Pankisi Gorge, the future of the two Russian military bases in Georgia, and the framework agreement between the two countries that is currently under discussion.
