ABKHAZ OPPOSITION DEMANDS ARDZINBA’S RESIGNATION

The Amtsakhara public-political movement, consisting of the 1992-93 Abkhazian war veterans, adopted a resolution at a July 10 congress, urging de facto President of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba for resignation. The Amtsakhara opposition movement claims that Ardzinba is unable to cope with the grave crime situation in Abkhazia and strengthen Abkhazia’s independence. Vladislav Ardzinba, who is undergoing a further course of treatment in Moscow, said he would not step down before his presidential term expires in October 2004.Visit also
