Usen Sydykov, head of the Kyrgyz presidential administration, on March 30 won a libel case against Mairam Akaeva, wife of former President Askar Akaev, and a Kyrgyz newspaper. A court in Bishkek ruled that Akaeva will have to pay Sydykov compensation of 50,000 soms ($1,200), while the newspaper \"Bely parakhod\" will have to pay 10,000 soms ($250).
