RUSSIA WILLING TO GIVE WATER TO CENTRAL ASIA

In the wake of the World Water Forum that ended in Kyoto, Japan, on 23 March, First Deputy Natural Resources Minister Nikolai Tarasov told journalists that Russia is willing to provide water to Central Asia, but no Central Asian countries have made formal requests for such assistance. One session of the international water conference was devoted to the Aral Sea. Uzbekistan\'s Rim Giniyatullin of the International Fund to Save the Aral said diverting just 5 percent of the water from Siberian rivers to the sea would prevent its complete disappearance.Visit also
